Product Review: Gouache from Five Below

The other day as I walked through Five Below, I came across this set of gouache paints and decided to give them a try. I mean, they’re only $5, right? So I grabbed them and came home to give them a try.

Well, today was the day I tried them. I actually did the entire opening and test swatches on video for The Creative Art Village group so that those members could get a real idea of what the entire experience was like. If you’re a member of The Creative Art Village, check out the video here.

Needless to say, they weren’t my favorite. In the video, you can see my reactions (yikes!) and how they worked as I painted with them. I’m not a gouache aficionado at all and don’t have a TON of pieces that I’ve created with gouache, but I will tell you this: I’m sticking with my original brand in my art supply closet.

If you’re interested in checking out The Creative Art Village and learning more about these and other products (as well as a ton of other fun stuff!), head over to The Creative Art Village and become a member today!
