A Painted Village in the Garden
In today’s weekly Wednesday Art Club, we worked on painting pavers to decorate our outdoor spaces… and the result is just adorable. I can’t wait to get mine outside and paint more!
It all started on Monday when I was walking around Lowe’s garden department. Shocker, I know. I love the garden department. And I got to thinking about what sort of project we should work on for this weeks class. As I perused the outdoor area, I came across these pavers, used to build retaining walls and such. As an aside, my son built me two rounded gardens a few years ago to cover up some old stumps using these pavers, and I loved them. So I decided to grab some for our meeting on Wednesday to see if the ladies were interested.
Well, I’d say they were! They got right to work and created their own little adorable villages and houses in glorious color and detail. In fact, we had so much fun, we decided we’d do it again next week (especially since one of us was missing this week). I just love how they all turned out differently, full of personality and beauty. If they look “milky” to you, that’s because we are still waiting for the outer varnish to dry so they are safe from the outer elements.
I cannot wait to do more!
