Watercolor Journal Journeys
It’s Thursday and nearly time for another week of my in-studio class, Whimsical Watercolors 3! It’s gone by in a flash (always does with my fav students!) and we’ve been enjoying working on projects and plenty of homework!
Each week, we work on an in-class project, such as a painting, technique or creative project. And we also have an assignment to work on during the week: Creating a page or two within our handmade watercolor journal.
We started out working on color theory and making swatches of colors that work together in groups of twos, threes and fours. This gave us a nice array of color choices when working on our projects. It stops the overwhelming feeling of “what color should I use?”
The following weeks, we’ve used these color stories to create pages of fun and whimsical watercolors that give us the opportunity to explore and learn about what colors/techniques we enjoy during our watercolor journey.
Tonight’s class: A whimsical watercolor landscape!
