Watch Out for Train Crossing!

So this happened yesterday right down the street from my house. Talk about scary.

This intersection is a nightmare. It’s a 4 way intersection with 3 of the sections having a stop. There is no stop sign at the train tracks, for obvious reasons, so that direction always has the right of way. I cringe when I drive this way, practically daily. Because there is no warning on the right of way side that says, “DO NOT STOP! DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS”. Because people assume that they need to stop even though there isn’t a stop sign there. I can’t even count the amount of times that I’ve had to lay on my horn as I sit on the track to get the car in front of my to move their ass. Scary!

This truck driver was stuck trying to make a right onto the street where the bottling company is. He must’ve thought he cleared the track… but he didn’t. There’s always such a huge backup at that bottling plant that it’s no wonder this happened. I can’t imagine how scary it must have been for the train engineer seeing what was on the tracks. Luckily nobody was hurt, this time.
