Show and Tell: “Introduction to Watercolors” Class
I’m still super excited about Tuesday’s Introduction to Watercolors class and how well the students did when working for the first time with watercolors! They picked up on everything so quickly and seemed to have a great time working with the various techniques that we learned. We completed an exercise and a project in the first class. (Check out the techniques we learned here!)
The project portion of the class worked on single line botanicals using both salt and alcohol to create the interesting textured effect in the background. They hit this project out of the park! Their use of color and interest in attempting the single line method was fantastic! I couldn’t have been prouder of these folks! As the conversation flowed around the room, we continued on flooding our segments with water and color, watching the two colors intermingle and mix together, creating gorgeous color combinations!
I’m already looking forward to our next class, where we will work on some enjoyable and easy watercolor landscapes together!
