Remembering Cinnamon Cooney

Over the last few days, the art world and YouTube has been shaken to its core with the untimely passing of Cinnamon Cooney, The Art Sherpa. Unexpected, shocking and devastating is just a few of the words I can think of to describe such a tragic loss to our creative community.

I began following Cinnamon many moons ago on YouTube. Her bright personality always put such a smile on my face as I watched her creative painting videos and how she brought her gorgeous canvases to life. Watching her art videos was and still is joyful and inspirational and will remain so for many years to come.

Cinnamon’s personality was pleasant to watch, calming to enjoy and inspirational to listen to. Her techniques and style have encouraged so many of us to try new things and continue on our artistic journeys. She had a wonderful way of showing us how to paint effortlessly and her style was beyond beautiful. I’m going to share with you a few of my favorites below:

I’d also like to express my sincerest sympathies to Cinnamon’s lovely husband, John as well as her three children. Their loss is unimaginable and I wish that I could help ease their sorrow during such a heartbreaking time. I am beyond sorry for their family and how devastated they all must be feeling.

So please take some time to check out Cinnamon’s artwork and videos. There will never be another artist, art teacher, art sherpa or human being like her. To think we were lucky enough to live during her lifetime… I am thankful for that.

Godspeed Cinnamon. You were and will remain cherished forever.
