Monochromatics in Watercolor Class

Wednesday Art Club was once again fabulous! We broke out the watercolors and were challenged to paint a whimsical village using only one color. I thought at first the ladies were going to have a heart attack! But alas, we muscled through and the results were just gorgeous!

We started out with light pencil sketches, then added wash and layer after layer of various shades of our chosen colors. The challenge was a little nerve-racking for the artists at first, but once we got started, we were cookin’ with gas and the colors just layered themselves on the page! And what is the best part? The details! We love working on details with our watercolors, so adding doodles, gel pens, colored pencils, markers, shading, textures and such, we each created a piece that was both unique AND eye catching! I am so super proud of how these projects finished up!
