INCHIES, TWINCHIES AND RINCHIES -- SWAP TERMS YOU MAY NEED A DEFINITION FOR
This past couple of days I’ve been putting together a swap for my online FB group of artists. This particular swap will focus on each artist creating 4 “Twinchies” and sending those 4 pieces to a partner.
But it got me thinking… does everyone know the differences between “inchie” and “twinchie” and then throw in the “rinchie”? So it got me thinking… I need to come up with a quickie definition for each just to clear up any confusion for my fine artistic friends!
Inchie: A 1” x 1” square piece of artwork. Similar to an Artist Trading Card (ATC), inchies focus on miniature artistic elements such as paint, collage, mixed media, etc. and is a one-of-a-kind unique piece of work. Each “inchie” is usually mounted on a sturdier cardstock or paper board to give it a little more weight than the standard ATC.
Twinchie: Slightly bigger than an “inchie,” a “twinchie” measures 2” x 2” square and is also a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.
Rinchie: A “rinchie” is a round piece of uniquely created artwork that measures 1” in diameter. Similar to an Artist Trading Coin, the “rinchie” contains layers of collage, art, paint, doodling or any other creative concept you can come up with!
So I hope this little quickie definition guide will help you when you are creating your inchies, twinchies and rinchies. They’re so much fun to do and create a challenge in and of itself because they are on such small little canvases.
